Therapeutic Modalities
Somatic Experiencing®
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a naturalistic form of healing that will help you learn how to settle and release physiological activation from your body. This process often helps people to reduce stress and return to a sense of regulation and authenticity in their lives. SE invites you to practice being with discomfort in your body in order to gently unwind chronically held patterns. This approach can be particularly useful in managing stress because so many of the symptoms are physiological. If you would like to read more about SE, visit the Somatic Experiencing International website or read In An Unspoken Voice by Peter Levine.
Expansive Attachment Theory
Attachment theory is developed based on typical development, and highlights the relationship between caregiver and child as a primary lens to understanding how a person may approach their life and relationships. I believe it is essential to expand this narrative to consider our unique needs in relationships, as well as the connection to those who came before us, to the natural world, to our culture, to our bodies, and our communities. This perspective is inspired by Linda Thai.
Parts Work
My therapy work acknowledges our deepest truth: we all contain multitudes. Our unmet needs and survival strategies can become "fragmented" into inner parts that may pop up to rescue us from discomfort or the challenges of life. As we heal from our trauma, we have the opportunity to compassionately work with our parts to soften their burdens as we find our more authentic experience of life.
My Approach
Modern psychology often suggests each individual is responsible for their own pain and disregards the harm systems of power weave into our nervous system. I believe it is essential to broaden our perspective of wellbeing by acknowledging the impact of this history on our lived experiences and sense of self. As a white practitioner, I recognize many treatment modalities replicate the traditional healing practices of indigenous peoples. I practice in the spirit of humility and accountability, invite the vulnerability of working across cultural differences, and welcome conversations to address harm from a transformative justice framework.

I provide a trauma attuned and neurodivergent affirming space for clients to explore their inner experience and discover their authentic way of being. I draw from a variety of modalities and practice a collaborative approach that centers your definition of wellbeing. My goal is to empower clients to build their inner fortitude, to find a home in their bodies, and connect to their communities with dignity and compassion.
